Equine Summit Coming to Lexington

The inaugural Kentucky International Equine Summit is scheduled for April 28-29 at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Lexington. More than 90 representatives from the fields of equine research and business will present and discuss information on three issues: The Well-Being of the Competitive Horse, The Emerging Science of Horse Breeding and The Equine Economy in the 21st Century. 

Additionally, Robert Evans, president and CEO of Churchill Downs, Inc., will be the keynote speaker at a luncheon on April 28. David O Connor, president of the United States Equestrian Federation, will speak at a luncheon on April 29.

The University of Louisville College of Business  Equine Industry Program and the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture's Equine Initiative program are sponsoring the summit.

The American Saddlebred Horse Association, another sponsor, will post a free, live webcast of the summit on www.saddlebred.com, as well as archived Web videos after the event.
