Ironically, Dusty Beau looked as good as ever during the practice ride. Beau was remembered during the show with an award in his name given to the winner of the Junior Exhibitor Five-Gaited Championship, and a perpetual trophy will be awarded annual to subsequent winners. Owner Rebekah Cloninger, the winner of the class at the past two Spring Premiers, was on hand to present the award to Caitlin Leith and What's The Whoopla. Dusty Beau amassed more than 35 wins at rated shows during his career, including two Reserve World's Championships and a World's Grand Championship in the Junior Exhibitor Five-Gaited 14-17 division in 2004 with former owner Ashley Walker. Rebekah Cloninger won the Junior Exhibitor Five-Gaited Championship and Grand Championship at ASAC only two weeks prior to Raleigh this year.
